Friday Inspiratio

Hello Friends!

On Monday I mentioned that something someone had said caused me to step away from my blog for a moment and I thought I would talk about that today. I even found the most perfect inspirational quote for it too!

10 Inspirational Quotes Of The Day (512):

Last month I went on vacation with my family. We had a great time, but we got a little homesick. It also confirmed that we would not be happy living in Tennessee. We are just going to stay where we live now…or rather, the same state.

Anyways, on the way home I was talking about my blog. I can’t remember exactly what I was saying. I think I was talking about the author interviews and how I may step away from that part of my blog for a little bit, since I was in a reading slump. Well, my brother decided to make a comment that really struck hard I guess.

He looked at me and says “No one reads your blog.”

I don’t even know why it bothered me so much…maybe because it was someone that I am close to, someone that knows how much I love my blog and writing and sharing my own opinions with the world. My family has always been supportive of things that I do and in this one moment I felt like my own brother had just stabbed a dagger right into the heart of my dreams. It hurt more than it should and I have been fighting with those words for a few weeks now.

I don’t have a lot of followers. I don’t get a lot of views or comments on my posts. But the thing is, there are a few people that read my blogs and some actually enjoy it. My mom reads every post I write, which makes things a little better. Do I wish I had more activity on my blog? Of course I do! Who wouldn’t? But to be honest, this blog started off as something for me to do when I lost my job a few years ago. Then it became a platform for when I query literary agents and publishers. It is also a place where I can express my opinions and feel like I have someone holding me responsible for things I said I was going to do.

Hopefully I have fought the demons away for a little bit and from here on out I can keep my blog active. Maybe I can even learn how to better advertise my blog and get it out in the world. Maybe by the end of the year I will have 500 followers and people that actually leave comments on my blog.

How do you overcome the negative comments of people around you?

Friday Inspiration

Hello Friends! I haven’t done a Friday inspiration in a couple of weeks. I haven’t been in a good place to do one, though that was probably when I should have been doing the post. But! I am back in the saddle again and I’m feeling so much better. Really, I am. I have low moments in the day, but I am able to get through them pretty easy.

But let’s get this inspiration going!

Where I have been in my head lately, I felt like this was the perfect thing for today. It seems that my lowest points in life come when I am stuck in a place I am not happy with. I know what makes me feel better, but I continue to do the things that make it worse.

I’m trying to accept change. And maybe soon, there will be a really big change happening in my life. A new start may be headed my way. Until that change, I want to make a few other changes. Really take control of my life and cut out the bad decisions.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day and find yourself in a wonderful place full of growth and good changes. I also hope that none of you are feeling stuck in your current situations. While I have problems of my own, I still always have an ear for anyone who needs to chat.

Have a wonderful Friday Friends!

Inspiration Friday

Hello Friends! I wish yesterday was inspiration Friday because I needed some kind of motivation. I had a terrible time with anxiety yesterday and I just didn’t want to do life. I didn’t want to get out of bed. I didn’t want to take my puppy to the vet. I just wanted to ball myself under the covers and never move again.

Of course, as any person would do, I got up and got things done. By the end of the day I was feeling better, but the lingering feelings were still there.

But, enough about that. Here is this weeks inspiration!

What more do you need than that?

Happy Friday Friends.

Friday Inspiration

Hello Friends!

I won’t waste too much of your time today. Partly because I am just too tired to type much thought. My store manager is on vacation this week and I am a little stressed, therefore tired. lol. And partly because, the quote speaks for itself. 🙂

Have a wonderful day friends, and chase those dreams today!

Friday Inspiration

Hello Friends! It’s Friday and I am about to have three days off work! A much needed little vacation from the crazy of this week.

This week has been rough. I have had a few panic attacks. We had inventory today and this week, getting ready for it has been so stressful! I tried to stay positive but by the end I was so stressed I thought I was going end up just laying in the floor staring up at the ceiling.

That is why this quote this week is so perfect for me!

No matter how hard things get I know that in the end I am headed somewhere great. And by great, it can be a simple as making someone happy, or getting a raise. Just because it’s hard or difficult, doesn’t mean you should give up or that it’s not worth it. I was once told that nothing worth having is easy to get.

Where will I be at the end of this difficult road? Well, this week I will find myself on a mini vacation with three days to stay at home and do nothing. But there is an even further destination that this all leads to and I don’t know where that is but I am a fighter and I am willing to travel down this broken road.

Friday Inspiration

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! Today is a good day because I am getting off work at 2 today. I never get off at 2…unless it’s 2am.

Anyways, let’s just jump into this today.

My mom actually shared this one with me on Facebook this week. And I just knew I had to share it with all of you!

I think this is just a beautiful quote. I feel like we spend so much time trying to do what we are “supposed” to do. We are going to work to pay bills. The bills are from things we are told we have to have. Then there are the things we like to do, that we have to save to do. Vacations, traveling, activities, new electronics, and in my case…books! But in order to do all of this stuff, we have to work to make money. Yet, we are all stuck in jobs that we just don’t like.

Actually, I should clear up that I actually do like my job. It can be stressful at times, but I know what I am doing and I like knowing what I am doing. But, it’s not what I want to do with the rest of my life. I want to be an author. I want to own a coffee/tea shop/bookstore. I know there are tons of places to buy books that also sale coffee and tea, but my place would be different. How? I don’t know yet, but I know it’s going to be amazing.

Life is too short to do the things we hate. And I know that we can do jobs we want without ending up living in a box somewhere. Maybe it will be hard work to get to the point where we love our job as much as our hobbies, but hard work is what cleanses the soul.

Tell me, what is your dream?

Friday Inspiration & A Question

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! This is going to be a quick inspiration Friday, and a bit of a question for you.

First, the question..

Do you enjoy the Friday inspiration? Should I continue this or should I think of something else to fill my Friday slot? Let me know in the comments. Or just like up this post to let me know that you do like them.

Now on to what you came here for!

I just really liked this. I think it’s a good way to take life. When someone is trying to bring drama into your life…or just when you don’t feel like doing much of anything. Stand tall and go be awesome no matter what!

Hello Friends! Happy Friday.

We are all in such a hurry sometimes. We want to hurry and lose weight, hurry and write a book, hurry and write a blog post. We are so stuck on this whole “life is short” thing that we sometimes just forget that it’s okay to take our time. It’s okay if you don’t get published next year or finish reading all the books you want to read.

Another thing that I have noticed in the book community is how people brag about how fast they read. “Oh, I read 100 pages an hour.” And this really annoys me! At first it made me feel horrible because I don’t read that fast. I am lucky to read 40 pages an hour. I am a bit of a slow reader and I am okay with that.

In the end, the important thing is that we are consistently working towards our dreams and goals. There is a saying that says “it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.” So why are we all in such a rush to get through the journey?

Slow down friends. Find joy in the ride and don’t give up. Life may be short, but if you are in a hurry to get to the destination, that short life isn’t enjoyed like it should be.

Have a Fabulous Friday Friends. 🙂

Friday Inspiration

Hello Friends. Happy Friday! Happy Friday 13th!! It’s also a full moon, so be on the look out, you might run into a few crazies today. Good news though…it’s Friday. So if you don’t work retail, you have the weekend to look forward to. If you are me, you have really early mornings to look forward to. *Groan*

So here is a little something to get you through the day!

Too many times do we look to others and think “I wish I had ____”. I feel like we really need to stop doing this to ourselves. My biggest “I wish I had___” is usually more books, more time to read said books, and more shelves to put those books on. I think I watch way too many youtube videos on book hauls and book reviews. I also often wish I had a publishing contract or was self-published. Of course, that comes with work and I haven’t done much when it comes to writing other than share my short stories with you all.

Anyways, wishing for what others have is just another way that we come just like each other. We say sorry for our weird quirks and go as far as saying “I know I’m weird.” Well you know what? Your weirdness is refreshing! It makes you who you are and we should embrace that. Unless you are serial killer weird…then you need to tone it down because murder is sort of illegal.

Embrace the weird and strange. Embrace being original, because a world full of copies is a boring world.

Have a wonderful day Friends!

Friday Inspiration

Hello Friends! I hope you have had a wonderful week and plan on having an even better weekend.

In case you need a little inspiration…

I love this quote. I also love the background I made for it. ^_^

You see things all the time talking about people on their death beds do not regret the things they did, but the things they didn’t do. Why do we decide not to do some things? Because we are afraid of the scars and bruises that come with trying new things. How many scars and bruises do you hold with pride? And I am not talking about the ones on your skin, but those that litter your soul.

My scars and bruises are what brought me to the person I am today. And I think I am pretty awesome.

I think if we all stopped worrying so much about the scars and bruises we could reach our dreams that much quicker. Maybe we would even be a little bit happier.

Let’s start showing up for life.
